Rehearsal Notes
-First sang different chords on solfege -- Sang a scale, and when we sang back down the scale, Sopranos held (high) 'DO', Altos held 'LA', Tenors held 'FA' and Basses held 'RE'.
-God's Gonna Set...: Ran through whole song once. Worked on punching the ending (more and more power). Recorded us singing the piece so later (when we improve everything we need to), wee see/hear growth. After listening to the recording, some people shared ideas/opinions on how to improve.

Concert Choir
Rehearsal Notes
-God's Gonna Set...: Run through. "...wehl-come tehbl" (welcome table). Everyone needs an 'older' sound--you tell 'em what He's gonna do! There is a Forte @ m.15. "Hallelujah" = piano. Diction, diction. Basses have stronger "yes yes yes". Sopranos last "fi-yer, hungry, thirsty" GO DOWN A NOTE. Altos - good, powerful sound!
-Little Beggarman: Ran through the whole thing almost at tempo...roughly.
-Erev Shel Shoshanim: See section leaders if you need to know how to say the text. Brief translation: Song is about walking through a garden at midnight. (Ooooh!)

Basses worked on not swallowing their sound, and bringing their voices forward in a nasally tone.
Sopranos worked on having a more soulful sound. Also - "...set dis worl on fi-yer..." 'on' is the same note as 'set dis worl'. Sopranos circle m.7 (making up notes there - fix that)

-Regular Warm-Up, forward sounding notes, Rhythm work (hand movements on Ta-va-ki-di-da-ma).
-God's Gonna Set...: Alto/Bass part, beginning (diction, diction!), piano-forte, forward/nasal sounding, Level Three on "gonna set" for taller sound--(if Mrs. Patchett can put mulch down for 3 days, you can stand up a couple times.", cresc. at the end of ALL PARTS.
-Little Beggarman: pg.22 m.103--Tenors/Altos have same notes as well as Sopranos & Basses
