Concert Choir, Tuesday 02/28/17

Rehearsal Notes and Assignments: Today we were in chorus for about 5 hours and it was super fun.. there were only about 35 people there total which is not a great number out of 67 so if you skipped today.. you missed out. We did tons of work and improved our songs a lot! First we ran through Sing Me to Heaven and worked on dynamics and making sure everything sounds well blended and cohesive. We also talked about the true meaning of the piece and some people shared what the song means to them and how they are able to relate through personal experiences. Then we worked on I'm Gonna Sing. We made a lot of small tweaks that made the song sound SO much better! Sopranos, Altos, Tenors (not the small group) and Basses need to emphasize the "Oh!" And "sus" on "oh my Jesus" the basses also worked on making sure they aren't a sliding into "grace". Mr. Biasi and the band students came in and we performed for them, then we watched the 25th Anniversary of Phantom of the Opera! :)
