Singing Valentines Sales will be Tomorrow and Monday/Wednesday next week. There is a sign up list online for students to walk around M, W, & F to publicize singing valentines.  You can earn service hours for this.

CV - final trip payments were due yesterday. You or your parent should have received an email letting you know what you owe. If you spoke to me about a delayed payment, please send Mrs. Patchett a quick email so I have a record of it.

All State Students you forms and paperwork were due yesterday! If you have them today, please put money in grey box and forms on Mrs. Patchett’s desk.

We have 22 rehearsals until MPA and 1 more rehearsal until Ms. Setzer comes to see us tomorrow! Let’s get to work! :)



Rehearsal:

We reviewed all 5 singing valentines that we've learned so far.

We sight read in the 2000 Sight Reading booklets at advanced level for rhythm and intermediate level for singing

Way Over In Beulah LAN'

-auditions for the higher part at the end of the piece took place and were finalized. Congrats to the four lovely ladies who received this part! You'll do a great job. 

-in measures 119-120, crescendo at "ovuh in" and decrescendo at "way" (the same applies for measure 127)

-in measure 131, the dynamic is piano and at measure 134 the dynamic is forte/mezzo forte

-in measure 143 at the word "land", the moving notes need emphasis

-men, make sure to use the rest in measure 137

Shore on This Shining Night

-in measure 28, the word "North" is one beat

-no breath in measure 61 after the word "shining"

-tenors, use inflection in measures 57-60

-for pages 4-7, we sang this section in circles around the room organized by voice part

-there's no breath between the words "alone" and "of" in measure 46

-in measure 34, women make sure to crescendo the word "healed"
