-We watched and listened to our performance of Danny Boy on Friday and observed the things we need to change in order to become a better choir. We then answered 4 questions (listed below):
1.) What was our professionalism like and what can we do to improve this?
2.) How were the facial expressions of the group?
3.) How do our expressions affect the audience's experience?
4.) Where do we go from here? (Ex. What should we improve, suggestions to make us better, etc)
Danny Boy- Whole song
-Got into circles with our voice part & ran the song
-Asked questions about parts we were confused on
-Ritardando and the end of the song (2nd verse)
12 Days After Christmas (New song!!!)- Pages 1 through 3
-Breifly went over pitches in like 5 minutes
-If you were absent, don't forget to ask for the song :)
Anti-Bullying Project- Today Mrs. Patchett told us about a new activity that the fine arts department has put together to encourage collaborative works amongst the fine arts students. Since it is Anti-Bullying month, ever student in our choir will be paired with a band student during our period and you will work together to create some sort of piece to potentially perform at a share day in the future. As the choir student, your job is to create a 'poem' of sorts that can be turned into a song. You will write the words that have to do with bullying or anti bullying, give the band student your range, and they will create a melody so you can then work together to make beautiful music :) more infor will be given tomorrow! (Keep in mind there are more choir students than band students so if you are willing to compose a piece on your own so you don't have to be assigned a band student, that would be great!)
