Rehearsal Notes and Assignments:
Prayer of the Children- Page 7 measures 40-48
-We held 'help' in measure 41 to correct pitches, Basses & Sopranos are octave Gs
-Don't hold 'face', it's a quarter note
-'For when' comes in fast in measure 42 because there's only an eighth rest
-Altos remember to go down from G to E on 'bringing' don't stay on the same note
-'Dali čûje te' is pianissimo so don't come in loudly
-Make sure your vowels are tall throughout the song especially on the Russian text
Festival Sanctus- Pages 4-9 measures 24-62
-'Benedictus' is unison for altos and sopranos and basses and tenors
-Pronounce 'In' as 'Een' in measure 27
-Time changes to 6/8 in measure 28
-We went over each voice part's pitches in measures 27-33
-Men circle piano in measure 34... come in softly
-Time changes to 10/8 in measure 39
-Hosana should be tall like "Hosahnah" not "Hozanna"
-Also circle the Coda and D.S. Al Coda
The 12 Days After Christmas- Pages 6-8 measures 37-56
-No breath after 'Christmas in measure 38
-Altos jump an octave in measure 42 from high D to middle D
-Men make sure you're loud enough when you say 'caught the croup'
-Crescendo on 'obscene'
-Make sure you have a really strong 'K' when you say 'fake' (you're angry because the gold was FAKE!!)
-Ritardando on 'and they turned my fingers green' measures 51-53
-Ladies briefly touched on the 'Do ba doo's' at the key change
I'm Gonna Sing 'Til The Spirit Moves In My Heart- Pages 7-9 measures 37-43
-Tenors make sure you don't speed up, the basses will be confused
-Basses tap the beat so it's easier for you to come in on time
-Altos circle the Bb to C from measures 39-40
-Sopranos make sure you aren't sliding to get to your notes
-Everyone learn your parts on 'movin' because it's a little rough

No Music Theory

Homework: Learn your voice part for I'm Gonna Sing on the 'movin's' Pages 7-9....actually do it because it will be evident if you come to class and don't know it. Go on YouTube and practice with a SATB choir :)

Sight Singing: We sight sang some basic melodies and I took a picture of them but I don't know how to put in on here, sorry!!!

Announcements:
Attention all Chorus Students!!!- Listen Carefully!!! The butterbraid pick-up day has been moved back a day - PICK-UP IS NOT Tomorrow, Wednesday.  It is NOW AFTER SCHOOL ON THURSDAY!!!  Please make arrangements to have you or someone in your family pick up your Butterbraids on THURSDAY this week at 2:18.

ALL CHORUS STUDENTS: The Musical workshop is THIS FRIDAY - all of lunch.  If you might interested in audition for Phantom of the Opera, the directors highly suggest you come to the meeting.  It is okay if you cannot be there for all of the workshop. 

ALL - Your last interim will go out tomorrow- please make sure you have all missing work turned in by the end of today. 

Concert & Beginning - If you are interested in auditoning for the 9-10 Wingate Select Choir, please have your essay written by THIS Thursday and bring it to Lunch Thursday.  We may be recording your audition this day so you will want to practice ahead of time.  Details on the essay topic and audition songs are on the chorus website.
