My Bonny Lass- Pages 5-7 measures 29-54
-Went over each voice parts' pitches
-Recorded ourselves singing and watched the voice memo on Ms. McGrath's phone
-Made sure to circle and pay attention to dynamics and blending
-Accent notes that are important for your voice part (or are accented in the music)
-Keep the light and bouncy feel even if we are forte
-Star in your music where your voice part needs to be louder
-Keep tall vowels and sound like you're having fun!!
I'm Gonna Sing- Pages 3-4 measures 10-17 and Pages 6-9 measures 28-43
-Circle the accents above notes with accents
-Basses don't forget, you stay on the same note on 'Jesus'
-Don't forget the 16th rest in measure 12
-This song is a level 3 on the brightness scale (if you forgot what that is... very dark & round)
-No breath at the end of 'Till he comes' and remember to repeat
-On the 'Movin's' if your voice part is ascending, then you should crescendo and if you're descending, than you should decrescendo
Prayer of The Children- Pages 3-4 measures 1-16
-On 'hear' in measure 1, get rid of the 'R' and replace it with 'ah' so it sounds like 'heah'
-Basses make sure you don't go flat in measure 3
-'Bended' in measure 4 should be 'behndehd' (sound that out)
-Altos don't go flat when you come in on the D in 'eyes' measure 5
-When we say 'heavenward' in measure 7 keep it tall
-Strong 'K' sound on 'Crying' in measure 8
-No breath at the top of page 4
-Soprano 1s make sure you aren't super loud there
-Watch the conductor or else you'll be really lost!!
-We pretended to throw a pig (idk we were all confused that's what popped into Mrs. Patchett's mind) to demonstrate the difference between how we sound and if we push a note and then back off
Danny Boy- Whole Song
-First verse is piano and the second verse is pianissimo
-We did the voice memo thin on this song as well, visualizing the way our voices move in the song
-Keep vowels tall and don't chew consonants
-Watch the conductor at all times because this song has a lot of dynamics to it
Homework:
If you are composing your own song for the Bullying project, it needs to be completed by tomorrow. The lyrics as well as the music need to be turned in! :)
