Concert Choir, Friday 11/18/16

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE :)

Rehearsal Notes and Assignments-
Hallelujah- Whole Song
-Watch Mrs. Patchett especially in the last measure so you don't accidentally sing on the rests
-Keep tall vowels throughout the song
-Make sure to circle the quarter Notes on page 8 when we say 'hallelujah'
-We practiced timing and pitches on pages 11 and 12
-Don't forget to emphasize the skippydoo (dotted 8th/16th note)
-Practice at home :)
We Wish- Whole Song
-Don't go flat if you're holding a note or repeating one
-Remember it's not "Chrrrristmis" it's "Christmahhs"
-We worked on the Pudding section
-Cross out page 15 we will skip to measure 99
Danny Boy- Whole Song
-Come in softly and don't drag the beginning
-Crescendo on notes that are held, this will help you not go flat and it sounds nice
-Lean on 'Calling' in measure 2
-Strong and pronounced 'f' on 'falling' in measure 6
-Tenors are the most important part in measure 8 so let them have their moment
-Altos remember 'meadow' goes down... it's a C, not a D
-Try to have this song memorized
12 Days- Page 7-end
-We went over the pitches for the doobadoos
-Make sure the consonants are strong and pronounced (remember this is a very dramatic song)
-Watch the conductor at all times because we slow down at the 8th day and then speed up
-Facial expressions go a long way!
Cold and Fugue Season- Pages 6-8 measures 36-57
-Alto 2s have a tricky part so make sure to practice
-'Classy' should sound like 'Clahhhhsy'
-Worked on when to come in with our 'Kchoo's'
-We mostly reviewed pitches for each voice part and put them together
-Ladies feel free to bring a bath robe to the concert :)

8 Rehearsal Days until the the Winter Concert!!!

-Make sure you have the dress rehearsal and Concert times and dates in your calendar. It is a test grade for you to attend both in full. Dress Rehearsal is Dec. 1, 2:30-5:30 & Concerts are at 4:30 & 7:30. Call time to school on Dec. 2nd is 3:20pm. You must come dressed and ready to go. The Boosters will feed you dinner between concerts. - Any conflicts must be communicated to Ms. Patchett by Friday
-Please check the board for All Choir Lunch Rehearsal Dates - Your attendance to these rehearsals will affect your daily grade in class. If you have another required tutorial at the same time, have your teacher write me a note or an email and Mrs. Patchett will excuse you, otherwise you are required to be at the rehearsal. It is a required tutorial.-Tickets are available for the concert-. Order online and pay by cash or check to the chorus program and turn money into the grey box. Orders and money need to be in by Nov. 22. The link is going to be sent out via remind this afternoon and it is also on the website.
