Concert Choir, Monday 11/07/16

Today we split into sectionals and learned the All-Choir songs. When we came back together as a group, it didn't go as well as we had hoped, but Leah, Ethan and I appreciate those of you who were respectful and showed good rehearsal skills. Sadly, there were several disrespectful people who cut into our rehearsal time, but we got done what we could.

I did my best to float around to see what each of the voice parts worked on but I wasn't able to get exactly what everyone was doing so I'll try to summarize :)

SECTIONALS
Soprano 1s-  Ding-a-Ding, We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Cold and Fugue
Soprano 2s- Cold and Fugue, Ding-a-Ding (got through most of the song)
Altos- We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Hallelujah, Ding-a-Ding, Cold and Fugue
Tenors- O Come O Come Emmanuel, Ding-a-Ding, We Wish You A Merry Christmas
Basses- Ding-a-Ding, Hallelujah, O Come O Come Emmanuel

ALL TOGETHER
We Wish You A Merry Christmas- Pages 1-8 measures 1-47
-Sopranos remember to drop the octave in measure 26
-We worked on timing in measures 33-36
-Don't chew "Christmas"
Ding-a Ding-a Ding- Pages 2-10 measures 1-32
-Most of the issues were timing
-Went over each voice part's pitches in measure 13
-Everyone circle rests and keep a steady beat
Hallelujah- Whole song
-Good job it sounded great :)
Cold And Fugue- Pages 2-6 measures 1-32
-Went over pitches and timing
-Good job for the most part we did a lot of Sight reading through parts that we didn't know yet
O Come O Come Emmanuel- Whole Song
-The men didn't actually sing this in class but it's my understanding that the whole song is completed

Homework: Learn your voice part for each of the All-Choir songs. There will be a test on Wednesday so know your part... practice tracks are available online!
